Microbial survival characteristics requirements
Many microorganisms used for LBP, such as Bifidobacterium, Bacteroidetes, etc., are anaerobic or facultative anaerobic bacteria. In an aerobic environment, the redox balance in the cells will be destroyed, resulting in the inactivation of key enzymes and the inability to grow and reproduce normally.
